If you feel Athenor is the kind of group you’re looking for and you're
local to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, the next step
for you may be to apply for it. So let us take a moment to explain how this
process works.
You begin your journey by filling out a petition. This petition tells us
some basic information about who you are, whether you wish to join as a Dominant
or a submissive, and asks for a brief statement of why you would like to join.
You can fill out your petition at the bottom of this page. After filling it out
and submitting it the Lodge will then send two to three representatives out to meet
with you. We’ll ask you some questions about yourself and your BDSM interests
while also answering questions about the Lodge in an effort to find out if we’re
a good fit for each other. This committee will then report back to the Lodge and
make a recommendation. Following that, all members of the Lodge, both Dominants
and submissives, will vote on whether or not to accept the petition. The voting
is anonymous and a black ball will constitute a rejection.
Otherwise one is accepted and will
undergo an Acceptance Ceremony and confirmation of intent. A one-time $40
fee is required for helping offset the cost of the ceremony.
From that day forward you are considered an "Initiate" in the
Lodge of Athenor (until such time as you wish to move to a higher level of
consensuality/responsibility) and shall hold membership so long as you remain in
good standing with the Lodge. As such you owe membership dues of $15/quarter. You may
participate in all Athenor functions.
As an initiate, Dominants will also choose a color triad at
this time (for marking your property). At this level you will be expected to learn the rules and rituals of
the Lodge and you have limited control over the submissives. You will also
be offered a basic education in the safety and techniques of all the primary
aspects of BDSM. Once you have demonstrated sufficient knowledge of each, you
may request a Vote of Confidence. If passed, you may undergo the second
"initiation" ceremony which will
make you a "Practitioner" of the Lodge entitled to all the rights and benefits
thereof.
As an initiate, submissives are expected to obey
any orders, though you may safeword if necessary. You are expected to
learn the rules and rituals of the Lodge. You will also be offered a basic
education in the safety and techniques of all the primary aspects of BDSM. If
you so choose, and if you have demonstrated sufficient knowledge of the Lodge
and of BDSM, you may proceed to the second "initiation" ceremony which
will make you a "Practitioner" of the Lodge and are entitled to all
the rights and benefits thereof.
The annual dues for the Lodge will be $60. There will also be an initiation
fee of $40. These fees are due prior to initiation. No payment, no
initiation.
