The
Structure of the Lodge
The Officers
Athenor has a total of 13 offices. The
offices are as follows:
Archon of Fire (Master Kyle)- This is the top officer and is
the head of the group while in office. Fire is their symbol because fire is the
symbol of Athenor and because fire represents the spark of human interaction.
Any fully initiated, level II Dom/me in the group who has served previously as
an Archon or Deacon may run for this office. The term runs from July 1st of the
first year to June 30th of the second year. This position may not be occupied by
the same person for consecutive terms unless no other suitable candidate is
available. The duties of this office are to oversee meetings and ceremonies, to
give guidance and direction to the group as a whole, to be responsible for all
social activities, to
ensure the safety of everyone within the Lodge, to instruct new Dom/mes in the
rules and rituals of the Lodge, to rule on application of discipline for
Dominants, appointment of committees, rule on infractions of Lodge Law, and to
interpret Lodge Law where it is otherwise a gray area.
Archon of Rings (Sadien Domina Sunny Tawse)- This office
represents D/s. The rings are their symbol because rings are used to
represent relationships, whether it be a wedding ring, or a slave's collar, just
as D/s is primarily about the relationship between the Dominant and the
submissive. Any fully initiated, level I Dom/me who has previously served as an
Archon or Deacon may run for this office. The term runs from July 1st of the
first year to June 30th of the second year. The duties of this office are to maintain the list of
Dom/me colors, assist in ceremonies and to rule in unresolved issues as part of
the Archon Tribunal.
Archon of Locks (unheld)- This office represents B/D. The lock is their symbol because the lock
represents restraint and the inability to pass from one point to another without
the aid of the one who possesses the key. Any fully initiated, level I Dom/me
who has previously served as an Archon or Deacon may run for this office. The
term runs from July 1st of the first year to June 30th of the second year. The
duties of this office are to to
maintain any bondage equipment owned by the Lodge, to maintain checklists and waivers, to maintain
non-disclosure agreements, updating
websites/lists/groups, assist in ceremonies and to rule in unresolved issues as
part of the Archon Tribunal.
Archon of Thorns (Lady Tanya)- This office represents S&M. The thorns are their symbol because as a part of
the fragrant rose they represent the pain that is intrinsic in our beauty, the
marriage between pain and pleasure, both parts of the same whole. Any fully
initiated, level I Dom/me who has previously served as an Archon or Deacon may
run for this office. The term runs from July 1st of the first year to June 30th
of the second year. The duties of this office are to maintain any sadomasochistic implements owned
by the Lodge, maintain discipline track
choices, assist in ceremonies and to rule in unresolved issues as part of the
Archon Tribunal.
Deacon of Rings- This officer assists the Archon of Rings in
their duties. Any fully initiated Dom/me may be appointed to this position by
the Archon of Rings, though they may not be appointed to the same position two
terms in a row unless no other suitable candidate is available. They also
assist in ceremonies.
Deacon of Locks- This officer assists the Archon of Locks in their
duties. Any fully initiated Dom/me may be appointed to this position by the
Archon of Locks, though they may not be appointed to the same position two terms
in a row unless no other suitable candidate is available. They also assist in
ceremonies.
Deacon of Thorns- This officer assists the Archon of Thorns in
their duties. Any fully initiated Dom/me may be appointed to this position by
the Archon of Thorns, though they may not be appointed to the same position two
terms in a row unless no other suitable candidate is available. They also
assist in ceremonies.
Seneschal- This officer does the bidding of the Archon of Fire
and helps coordinate the other subs in fulfilling orders coming from the
Dominants. They are also responsible for mentoring new submissives all the rules
and rituals of the Lodge. Any fully initiated submissive may run for this office
and be elected by a vote of their fellow submissives for a term of two years
beginning July 1st. They also assist in ceremonies.
Steward of Feasts- This officer assists the Archon of Fire in
planning social activities, arrange for pot-lucks, catering, and clean-up after
social activities. Any fully initiated member, Dom/me or sub, may be
appointed to this position by the Archon of Fire.
Steward of Coins- This officer is responsible for assisting
the Archons with the finances of the Lodge, keeping a record of all accounts and
seeing to the proper payment of all debts. Any fully initiated member, Dom/me or
sub, may be appointed to this position by the Archon of Fire.
Steward Of Letters- This officer is responsible for assisting
the Archons with all correspondence and maintaining all non-financial records.
Any fully initiated member, Dom/me or sub, may be appointed to this position by
the Archon of Fire.
Scribe - This officer is responsible for all record keeping required
for meetings, including attendance, minutes, agendas, membership status,
etc. Any fully initiated member, Dom/me or sub, may be appointed to this
position by the Archon of Fire.
Steward of Petitions- This officer is responsible for
receiving all petitions, appointing investigation committees, and making
recommendations. Any fully initiated Dom/me may be
appointed to this position by the Archon of Fire.
Membership
Altogether the membership is divided into six classes, Dominants and
submissives with three levels of each.
Dominants
The Dominants are entrusted with taking care of the organization and
direction of the group. Amongst the Dominants, Athenor is largely a democracy,
guided by its officers. All fully initiated level I Dominants have a right to
vote and can hold any office except Archon of Fire and Seneschal. The
responsibility of the Dominants is to serve the Lodge by sharing their
expertise, guiding subs to find fulfillment through meaningful service, and to
bring respect to the Lodge by bettering themselves.
Submissives
The submissives serve the Lodge by taking care of the details. Subs do not
have a vote (except when voting on membership issues) but are free to give
advice and express their opinions. Subs can not hold office except for Steward
of Coins, Steward of Letters, Steward of Feasts, Scribe and Seneschal. While the
subs are in service to the Lodge, they are not there simply for the pleasure of
the Dominants. Rather they are there to assist the Lodge in its functions, help
it to achieve its goals, and through their service to the Lodge, also be of
service to themselves, the community, and the universe.
Prior to Acceptance - Petitioner
Level 1- Initiate
When one has completed the level I initiation, they become an
initiate. An initiate Dominant can vote, hold office and serve as a mentor. An
initiate sub is not given orders, though requests may be made of them. Initiates
are expected to study and learn the rules and rituals of the Lodge so that they
may participate in them. Initiates will also be given a basic education in
bondage, D/s, and S&M. When they have demonstrated that they have a working
knowledge of the philosophies of each and basic safety, and they are
sufficiently familiar with the rules and rituals, they can move on to the next
level.
Level 2- Practitioner
After the level II initiation, Dominants can vote, hold office, serve as
mentors and give orders. Submissivess can hold office and are expected to take
orders according to Lodge protocol. All second level subs maintain some control
over their service as they may request mercy or refuse any order that makes them
uncomfortable. All second level Dominants are expected to follow the
consensuality protocol before interacting with a sub in a D/s manner.
Level 3- Mysterian
This level is for those who wish to seek genuine Dominance and submission
and are willing to accept the risks associated with it. If a submissive chooses
to become third level, then they are truly in service to the Lodge and are
expected to obey all orders given by Dominants who are also of this level. They
may use safewords to indicate problems or concerns, but unlike second level
submission, it doesn't indicate an automatic cancellation of the order. It is
the responsibility of the Dominant(s) to properly address the problem or
concern. In turn, for a Dominants to achieve this level, they must exhibit
knowledge, experience, and trustworthiness sufficient to merit that level of
submission. This is accomplished via attaining the necessary shields and the exhibition of a masterpiece scene
followed by vote of the Lodge members.
